Well, it's 3:16 am. I just woke up and I am watching Forensic Files. It is awful what one human being does to another for such stupid reasons. It's dumb to take another's life for any reason, but these people are off the chain.I'm going to get my clothes ready for church Sunday, I'm an Usher. I have to get the house ready for the upcoming holiday. I plan to Bar-B-Q this weekend. At age 65, I try to do as much as my health will allow. I have 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren so I have a lot to keep me busy. I have been looking for a sewing machine to make my quilts, I have to go shopping for yarn to crochet hats and slippers. A friend of mine got me started on those colorama coloring sheets, they are so relaxing. Well, now I am playing Candy Crush Saga, I'm on level 92. I have to take my dog, Scrappy, out for a walk. That will give me my exercise. I didn't get a chance to socialize him when he was a pup, so he is a complete nut. He's a pit bull labrador mix. I think he's a crack head. Sometime while walking him, he must have found some crack and ate it, because he acts like he's losing his mind. Between him and his craziness, and my great grandbaby with her cell phone at 4 years old, I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. Loving every minute of it. One of my great grandbabies is suffering from a severe case of strep throat, I am praying for her to get over this and back to her feisty little self. Well, I went to the store to get some snacks, when I got home my daughter said that my great grandbaby wasn't breathing right, so we took her to the hospital. They are going to keep her overnight to see why her breathing is so labored. She will be at 117th and Meridian. They say her tonsils are swollen and almost closing of her air passageway. Please Prayers for her.
Average Allowances by Age. The average American family pays approximately 50 cents per week for each year of a child's age. For example, a 10-year-old would get $5 per week. Another often-quoted allowance figure is $1 per week for each year of the child's age, so an 8-year-old would receive $8 per week.
I have got to go shopping to get me a new outfit and a new pair of shoes. I got my allowance today. Boy, things have gone up. A DIME doesn't go very far.
Today is my day off and I had plans. But as plans go, nothing turns out as you plan. My plans were to put on some comfortable clothes, sit under the fan, (central air is not working, as usual). Read a book, eat some fattening snacks, watch my favorite programs, play with my great grandbaby, (she's sick and don't feel like playing), get on the computer for a while and then settle back and sit on the porch for a minute or two, (bees and flies run me in the house). Those were my plans. But of course, that didn't happen. I put on the comfortable clothes, I got under the fan, I read some of the book, didn't buy the fattening snacks, watched one favorite program (Grey's Anatomy on Lifetime TV), my grandbaby went home with her mama to be doctored on, got on the computer and there was a phone call that rearranged my day, a granddaughter need me for something (I have thirteen granddaughters). She needed me to move some things for her because her apartment had gotten burnt up. She has two children. All the school clothes, all her work clothes, (she works at AutoZone). She has to start all over again. Most people would cry and say "Why Me" not my granddaughter, she knows that things happen for a reason. We may not know why right now, but we will find out later on. God will be with her and the children, she just have to say a prayer and go on. Remember what the song said, Lord, don't move that mountain, lead me around it. Well, I am back on my computer, sipping on my fattening soda and eating fattening Cheetos Crunchy. Now I am back on schedule.
Recently my friend had to go into the hospital. She had been training me to do her work for her temporarily. It has only been a week and I miss her. I miss her smile and her laughter. Yesterday she was released from the hospital. I was so happy I almost shouted right there in the office.
Thank You Lord!!!
One Saturday night, a pastor was working late and decided to call
his wife before he left for home. It was about 10:00 PM, but his wife
didn't answer the phone. The pastor let it ring many times. He thought
it was odd that she didn't answer but decided to wrap up a few things
and try again in a few minutes. When he tried again, she answered right
away. He asked her why she hadn't answered before, and she said that it
hadn't rung at their house. They brushed it off as a fluke and went on
their merry ways.
The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office,
which was the phone that he'd used that Saturday night. The man that he
wanted to know why he'd called on Saturday night. The pastor couldn't
figure out what the man was talking about.
Then the man said, "It rang and rang, but I didn't answer."
The pastor remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he'd intended to call his wife.
The man said, "That's okay. Let me tell you my story. You see, I was
planning to commit suicide on Saturday night, but before I did, I
prayed, 'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a
sign now.' At that point, my phone started to ring. I looked at the
caller ID, and it said, 'Almighty God'. I was afraid to answer!"
The church that the pastor attends is called Almighty God Tabernacle.
Please be aware that there are changes you need to make in your life.
These changes need to be completed in order that I may fulfill my
promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I
apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this
seems very little to ask of you. I know, I already gave you 10
Commandments. Keep them, but follow these guidelines as well.
1. QUIT WORRYING
Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you
forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for
you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes
2. PUT IT ON THE LIST
Something needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR
list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the
problem. I can't help you until you turn it over to me. And, although my
to-do-list is long, I am, after all, God. I can take care of anything
you put into my hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I
take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.
3. TRUST ME
Once you've given your burdens to me, quit trying to take them back.
Trust in me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs,
your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on my
list. Problem with finances? Put it on my list. Problems with your
emotional roller coaster? For my sake, put it on my list. I want to help
you. All you have to do is ask.
4. LEAVE IT ALONE
Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now,
I think I can handle it from here." Why do you think you are feeling
stronger now? It's simple. You gave me your burdens, and I'm taking care
of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don't
you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back
where you started? Leave them with me and forget about them. Just let me
do my job.
5. TALK TO ME
I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy.
Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I'm in control. But
there's one thing I want you to never forget. Please don't forget to
talk to me - OFTEN! I love you. I want to hear your voice. I want you to
include me in the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talk
about your friends and family. Prayer is simply you having a
conversation with me. I want to be your dearest friend.
6. HAVE FAITH
I see a lot of things from up here that you can't see from where you
are. Have faith in me that I know what I'm doing. Trust me, you wouldn't
want the view from my eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over
you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust me. Although I have a
much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just
doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?
You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you
forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate
than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your
laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time. Share
your tears with those who are mourning. Share your faith with those who
8. BE PATIENT
I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many
diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children,
change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places,
meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so
impatient then when it takes me a little longer than you expect to
handle something on my to-do-list? Trust in my timing, for my timing is
perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days,
everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush.
9. BE KIND
Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may
not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I
still love you all. Please try to get along, for my sake. I created
each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were
all identical. Please know I love each of your differences.
10. LOVE YOURSELF
As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created
by me to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love me.
Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes my heart ache when
I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very
precious to me. Don't ever forget that!
When searching for a change in your looks, there is nothing as simple as
changing or updating your hairstyle. Hair cuts designed for your facial
structure can make all the difference between looking Wow! or Oh no!.
There are some fairly common standards to consider for your particular
If you have an oval face, it can be the easiest of all types to flatter.
A variety of options are at your disposal. Most advise keeping an even
length with no layers or high volume. Wispy bangs can be quite
flattering for this face. Really, almost any option will look good if
you make sure to highlight your best features.
The round face is often problematic for some people, but there are
options that can flatter your face. You do not want any cut that will
emphasize the fullness of the face. Whether your hair is long or short,
layers can help minimize the roundness. Keep the hair off the face and
try to emphasize your eyes and cheekbones. Some stylists suggest keeping
the hair just below the chin and including tapered ends.
With a square face you might want to consider bangs that are short and
straight. Do not cut the hair too short, and consider adding length to
the sides and back with layers to add volume to the face. Some of the
trendy spiky cuts, or a cut with curls on the ends can be flattering for
A heart shaped face needs the hair below the jaw line. No short cuts or
layers are usually advised. Getting side swept bangs can also take the
emphasis off the point in the chin.
A long shaped face looks best with bangs all the way to the eyebrows.
Curls and side layering without much volume on top will help to shorten
In addition to your facial structure, you should also consider your
lifestyle when choosing a cut. Are you most often in formal situations,
or is casual the way you normally live? When preparing for a special
event like a wedding function or prom, consider trying a formal look.
However, even informal styles can work for these occasions. Just make
sure it flatters your dress style.
Your stylist can be an excellent resource when deciding on your best
style. If however, you do not like any of her suggestions, do not feel
obligated to go with her choice. You know what will be most comfortable
for you. Consider using an Internet site that allows you to virtually
look at various styles. Some have your facial structure and others allow
you to download a photograph. This can help you decide if the look is
appropriate for you.
Deciding the hair cuts and styles that work best for you is a personal
decision. As long as you like the look, it does not matter what the
experts say. If you should make a bad choice, it can always be changed
when the cut grows out.
The origin of Great Danes, like that of many other varieties of dogs, is so obscure that all researches have only resulted in speculative theories, but the undoubted antiquity of this dog is proved by the fact that representatives of a breed sufficiently similar to be considered his ancestors are found on some of the oldest Egyptian monuments.
A few years ago a controversy arose on the breed's proper designation, when the Germans claimed for it the title "Deutsche Dogge." Germany had several varieties of big dogs, such as the Hatzrude, Saufanger, Ulmer Dogge, and Rottweiler Metzgerhund; but contemporaneously with these there existed, as in other countries in Europe, another very big breed, but much nobler and more thoroughbred, known as Great Danes.
When after the war of 1870 national feeling was pulsating very strongly in the veins of reunited Germany, the German cynologists were on the lookout for a national dog, and for that purpose the Great Dane was re-christened "Deutsche Dogge," and elected as the champion of German Dogdom. For a long time all these breeds had, no doubt, been indiscriminately crossed.
The Great Dane was introduced into this country spasmodically some thirty-five years ago, when he was commonly referred to as the Boarhound, or the German Mastiff, and for a time the breed had to undergo a probationary period in the "Foreign Class" at dog shows, but it soon gained in public favour, and in the early 'eighties a Great Dane Club was formed, and the breed has since become one of the most popular of the larger dogs.
The Kennel Club has classed Great Danes amongst the Non-Sporting dogs, probably because with us he cannot find a quarry worthy of his mettle; but, for all that, he has the instincts and qualifications of a sporting dog, and he has proved himself particularly valuable for hunting big game in hot climates, which he stands very well.
Respecting the temperament of the Great Dane and his suitability as a companion writers have gone to extremes in praise and condemnation. In his favour it must be said that in natural intelligence he is surpassed by very few other dogs. He has a most imposing figure, and does not, like some other big breeds, slobber from his mouth, which is a particularly unpleasant peculiarity when a dog is kept in the house. On the other hand, it must be admitted that with almost the strength of a tiger he combines the excitability of a terrier, and no doubt a badly trained Great Dane is a very dangerous animal.
It is not sufficient to teach him in the haphazard way which might be successful in getting a small dog under control, but even as a companion he ought to be trained systematically, and, considering his marked intelligence, this is not difficult of accomplishment.
Miriam, who was called a
prophetess, a seer, she was a midwife and messenger. She had been serving El
Shaddai all her life for eighty-six years. Her brother, Moses returns to Egypt
with a message for his people from El Shaddai, who now has a new name, Yahweh.
He declares that they are to be delivered. He explains that it will not happen
overnight, but there will be plagues to show Pharoah his power and to prove
that he is the one true GOD. Miriam and her family have impossible choices to
make. To stay in bondage or chose freedom at what cost? If they survive the
plagues would they survive Pharoah's fury. How to escape from Egypt? Where
would they go? How and what would they eat? Travel with Miriam and her family
on this awesome journey. You feel as if you were there. This is my second book
by Mesu Andrews and I was not disappointed. I look forward to her next book.

This book gets off to a slow start to me. I like how Sarai is rescued from defilement by her half-brother, Abram, and the two are soon married. A curse was placed on Sarai that she would be barren. Abram his wife, Sarai and his family leave Ur because of the Elamites attacking. His brother Haran is killed and the family, except Nahor escape. Being lead by the promises if his God, Abram leads his family on a journey that he has no idea where he is going. They arrive in Egypt. Fearing for the lives, Abram lies to Pharaoh causing him to order a fleet of barges to take Abram and his large family to Tanis where they were to gather their servants and herds and leave Egypt. Sarai and Hagar. Hagar gives birth to a son. Abram's name changes to Abraham, exalted father. Sarai's name also was changed to Sarah, princess. Sarah gives birth to Isaac. The characters are intriguing. To have faith to leave all that you know and fell safe at, to go to some unknown place because God promised it to you is a life-altering faith and love. Pick up a copy today you will enjoy it. This is my first book by Roberta Kells Dorr. It is well written. The characters were portrayed well and convincingly. Her description of the country and surroundings was vivid.

Hepatitis B is a liver infection caused by the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). Hepatitis B is transmitted when blood, semen, or another body fluid from a person infected with the Hepatitis B virus enters the body of someone who is not infected. This can happen through sexual contact; sharing needles, syringes, or other drug-injection equipment; or from mother to baby at birth. For some people, hepatitis B is an acute, or short-term, illness but for others, it can become a long-term, chronic infection. Risk for chronic infection is related to age at infection: approximately 90% of infected infants become chronically infected, compared with 2%–6% of adults. Chronic Hepatitis B can lead to serious health issues, like cirrhosis or liver cancer. The best way to prevent Hepatitis B is by getting vaccinated.
Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be able to talk to God and to 'hear' him talk back to you, like in Moses' day? When things are going bad and you need someone to talk to and provide a solution to your problem.
In this book, he talks about sharing secrets with God by giving, praying and fasting in secret. Our Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly. I like the section about "Special Ears." When I read that it reminded me of the times I have been doing something or going somewhere and out of the blue an idea or a thought would pop in my head and it would stay there until I acted upon it and it made me smile like something just between me and God. Or pray a prayer to have it fulfilled and whisper, "Thank You, Lord." When I read the section "Pleasing God And Doing Stuff," I thought about when I helped some people and there was no food in my refrigerator for at least a week except what was left from our Thanksgiving dinner, which was just enough for the 3 people in the family. This food lasted for 9 days. We ate 3 times a day. It brings to mind " I will open you the windows of heaven , and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And finally, the section on "Looking Forward To What Lies Ahead," I look forward to growing with God, watching grandkids and great grandkids grow with God also. This is a very inspiring book. It was well written, easily read, nice cover,(front and back). It covers a lot of interesting points.

Very informative, enlightening and educational. It answered a lot of my questions. This book spans twenty centuries of history. It tells how the church came to be, and it has grown. It tells how the Catholics and Protestants separated. Learn about those who came before us in the faith. It begins with Jesus' ministry, crucifixion, death and resurrection. This is a book that will be on your mind for a while. Good book!!!
This is my first book by Sally Ann Wright, and I hope it won't be my last one. My Keepsake Bible is a good gift for a mom who has just had a baby, it has a place for his birthdate, his mom, dad, grandparents, plus a kid's bible. It's wonderfully illustrated, soft cover, bright colors, easily read, a book any kid would love to read or have read to them. I really love the prayers in the book, so simple, easy and soothing. I plan on using some of those prayers in my daily life for myself and my family. It was made so clear for the kids, they'll be reading it over and over until it gets dogearred. I especially liked that prayer:
the wind and the waves obey you.
Deaf people hear because of you.
Blind people see because of you.
Lame people walk because of you.
Dead people live because of you.
Help me to obey you,
to hear you, to see you in those around me,
to walk where you want me to be,
to live my life serving you by helping others.
Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is HATRED, let us sow LOVE;
Where there is INJURY, let there be PARDON;
Where there is DISCORD, UNION;
Where there id DOUBT, FAITH;
Where there is DESPAIR, HOPE;
Where there is DARKNESS, LIGHT;
Where there is SADNESS, JOY;
For your mercy and for your truth's sake.
Nice job SALLY ANN WRIGHT, hope to read another one of your books. God Bless.
I received a complimentary copy from Tyndale House for this review.
I enjoyed this book. I could not put it down, it was captivating. I like how it was told from Hadassah (Esther) and Harbonah's point of view. It was so detailed, it was almost like you were there. The customs and traditions. The life of a eunuch, concubine, life in the harem, how treacherous a queen could be, that a king was in constant danger of losing his life from those he put trust in. How eunuchs served around the palace. How a young teenager became a wife and a queen. Being captured by ruffians, brought in a slave trader's carriage to the palace.
Esther is one of my favorite women of the bible. She had character, courage and love for her people. This was an emotional and touching portrayal. A young girl taken from the only father she has known, taken from her betrothed, taken from her friends, put in an atmosphere that is strange to her a mere teenager. How was she to cope? What did she have to do to stay alive? What of her betrothed and his father? So much has happened to Hadassah in the short time of her life. There is so much going on, it keeps you spellbound.
Beauty is not always a blessing.
This is my first book by Angela Hunt and I was not disappointed
The front cover was exquisite with its raised lettering and smooth back cover.

This book was interesting. It's a practical guide for small groups, individuals, and churches. Its a helpful guide, simple. Most people think that going to church every Sunday is all they have to do, but there's more to it than that. We have to try to lead people to Christ. I remember my godmother and I going to different people's house for a prayer meeting or a bible study. That was so exciting. After reading this book, you will have 101 ways to demonstrate the gospel. This is a great tool for someone ready to start the everyday mission. Each day has a bible scripture to read. This book will liven up your life. It answers so many questions, you will keep this close at hand.

We all desire more than just daily routines, we feel stuck and limited, existing instead of living.
An animal's life is of mere existence, eating, sleeping, finding shelter, seeking safety, having sex, producing offspring who will go through the same cycle. We are more than mere animals.
Relationships, work, hobbies, sports, addictions, eating, art, church, politics, volunteering, boyfriends, girlfriends, parenting, fame, religion, drinking, vacations, shopping, collecting, making money, spending money, giving money, success, social causes, selfish causes. Things for which we spend our time, money, and energy and which we hang our dreams and hopes.

This was a very interesting book, you would enjoy it.
This is a good book, its about a young boy's journey from a life as an ordinary kid to a young man who, amidst the chaotic mess of religion, falls in love with Jesus.
Going to church was not new for Matthew, his first visit to church was in his stroller next to his Mom and Dad's pew when he was eight weeks old.
Before switching churches, Matthew's parents were Methodists, after the move they were Baptists. This is his journey through the choatic mess of religion. By the time he was seven, the man whom God had chosen frightened him. Besides the Trinity, hellfire and brimstone were his favorite things.
The older he got, life was strange and fearful. When he didn't read his Bible or pray, he feared that God would punish him by crippling him or killing his mother. He would come home from school and call his mother at work when he hadn't read his Bible to make sure she was all right.
By the time he was in 10th grade, each week over eight hundred people came to his church. High attendance meant the community liked them, large numbers of souls being saved meant God liked them.
After college he bounced from church to church.
Did he find what he was seeking?
Churched is funny, moving and once you pick it up, you can't put it down.
