You Can't Keep A Good Man Down
Ben-Hur by Carol Wallace
Whew!! I have seen the movie Ben-Hur starring Charlton Heston, I never read the book. Carol Wallace you have done
an amazing job with this book. The take-of of Judah and Messala as boys. How he ends up as a galley slave, the age
he was as a galley slave. How Naomi and Tirzah are swept off with no explanation as to where they are to be taken,
The faithful servant and nursemaid, Amrah Judah Ben-Hur has a comfortable life, and it was all turned upside down
by someone who was supposed to be a friend. Fate steps in and Quintus Arrius enters his life, he saves his life and is
adopted by him. Back home, Esther and her Father, Simonides, who are slaves of the Judah’s father, are still taking
care of his business affairs waiting on the day of Judah’s return. Then Judah meets the Sheik Ilderim, another person
who will make an impact on his life. Balthazar, the Egyptian, another person that enriches. Balthazar's daughter, Iras, who has a secret agenda. This is a page- turner. The way the chariot race was portrayed was smooth. His training of the sheik's horses was great. How Naomi and Tirzah are cleansed of leprosy will make you want to shout Hallelujah! How Jesus dies on the cross is touching. How everything comes together is to me a stroke of genius. Carol Wallace, keep up the good work. Looking forward to your next book. Pick up a copy today, you won't regret it. Good Reading.
